Tilly Cottage offers a great value get-away for up to 4 people:
- Well equipped 'cottage style' kitchen with large range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave.
- A utility room with washing machine.
- The living/dining room is open plan, with comfortable seating and a dining table for 4. There is Wifi and Freesat TV channels available.
- 2 double bedrooms (each has a comfortable double bed) one bedroom has an additional small dressing and seating area. Both have ample storage
- Large bathroom with a fab walk-in shower and a roll-top slipper bath, perfect for along soak!
- To the front of the cottage is an enclosed garden, to the rear is a small enclosed yard.
- Wifi, Freesat TV, Gas central heating
The property provides comfortable, affordable accommodation and is well equipped for a long short stay. Please note: We do not impose an additional cleaning charge but when guests book they are accepting that they will leave the property as they would wish to find it, in a clean and tidy condition.
Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome (Please note that pets are not allowed on furniture or in the bedrooms) No extra charge. The outside space is somewhat limited (enclosed front garden and rear yard) but dogs can be walked on the village green unleashed.
We welcome couples, families and temporary workers to the area. (Why just book a hotel room- when you can have a 'home-from-home'?) Please note whilst we can accommodate children, we have NO baby equipment available ie highchairs/cots/stairgates etc
Whilst not in a 'picturesque tourist' village (Evenwood is part of the heritage of the Durham coal field) the cottage offers very comfortable and homely accommodation and is within easy reach of all tourist activities, including Raby Castle, High Force Waterfall, Auckland Castle, the Kynren Light and Sound performance, Locomotion Railway Museum, the Durham Dales, Stanhope Steam Railway, Beamish Living History Museum, Durham City, and the town of Barnard Castle with its amazing array of quirky shops and eateries, plus the Castle and the amazing Bowes Museum.
Evenwood itself has bus routes to Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle and Durham. It's serviced by two cafes. two mini markets, post office counter, ATM, fish and chip shop and a pub.
